Welches Buch hat Dich in letzter Zeit beeindruckt? Welche Lektüre ist gerade wichtig für Dich? Welcher Text, welche Publikation erscheint Dir brisant vor dem Hintergrund der gegenwärtigen Situation oder stellt einen gewissen Ausgleich dazu dar, in dieser Zeit der weitgehenden Isolation – als eine Art von „sinnvoller“ Ablenkung?
Die Ausstellung Reading Window. Was Künstler*innen aktuell lesen lädt – als erste Präsentation von RL16 – dazu ein, sich anhand einer kleinen Zusammenstellung von Büchern und Texten einen Einblick zu verschaffen, mit welcher Lektüre sich international tätige Kunstschaffende momentan befassen, sei es speziell im Kontext ihrer Arbeit oder auch im alltäglichen Leben.
Reading Window ist, wie es der Titel bereits andeutet, im Schaufenster von RL16 in der Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 16 in Berlin-Mitte zu sehen und umfasst literarische, historische, wissenschaftliche oder auch künstlerische Veröffentlichungen, welche die angefragten elf Künstler*innen jeweils zusammen mit einem kurzen Statement und Anmerkungen zum Inhalt eingereicht haben. Die Ausstellung ist von außen einsehbar und wird abends bis 22 Uhr beleuchtet.
Mit RL16 eröffnen in der Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 16 in Berlin-Mitte neue Räume zur Präsentation und Diskussion zeitgenössischer Kunst und ihrer gesellschaftlichen Implikationen.
RL16 ist eine Initiative von Margit und Prof. Dr. Christoph Behrend.
Die künstlerische Leitung übernimmt die Kunstkritikerin und Autorin Barbara Buchmaier.

Which book has impressed you lately? What reading is important for you right now? Which text, which publication seems explosive to you against the background of the current situation or represents a certain balance to it, in this time of extensive isolation – as a kind of „meaningful“ distraction?
The exhibition Reading Window. What Artists Are Reading Right Now invites you – as the first presentation of RL16 – to gain an insight into what internationally active artists are currently reading, be it specifically in the context of their work or also in everyday life, by means of a small compilation of books and texts.
Reading Window, as the title suggests, is on view in the shop window of RL16 at Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse 16 in Berlin-Mitte and includes literary, historical, scientific, or even art publications, each of which was submitted by the requested eleven artists along with a short statement and comments on the content. The exhibition can be viewed from the outside and is illuminated in the evening until 10 p.m.
With RL16, new spaces for the presentation and discussion of contemporary art and its social implications are opening at Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse 16 in Berlin-Mitte.
RL16 is an initiative by Margit and Prof. Dr. Christoph Behrend.
The artistic direction is taken over by the art critic and author Barbara Buchmaier.
